The Frazee Tumble Force posted their best score of the season on Sunday, Feb. 12 in Alexandria, Minn. The Tumble Force posted a score of 110.75 as several team members posted personal bests for the season.
The biggest improvements came on vault with the team score up 1.5 points and bars with a team score up almost 3 points. Four members of the Frazee team made big gains on the beam as well.
While the team continues to perform at a high level they will continue to focus on their floor exercises as one person stepped out of bounds and one person fell in the event.
The Tumble Force also recently competed in a meet in Becker. The team started on vault and posted pretty consistent scores across the board. Head coach Amie Erickson said the main issue has been bent arms and legs in the younger team members.
Unfortunately the team had multiple falls in the beam, but the routines overall were well scored and posted .5 points higher than the week before.
“(On) floor we had one athlete, Paige Baumgart, get a front tuck last week and was able to incorporate that increasing her difficulty and everyone’s dance series improved, which brought our floor score up almost 3 points,” said Erickson.
The coach went on to say that she was expecting the team to post a higher team score at this point in the season, but added that the bars scores were not what she expected. As a result the Tumble Force team ended the meet with a score of 105.75, which was similar to what they had the week prior.
