The City of Frazee received a $475,000 grant to help pay for a multi-use, non-motorized path extending from the public beach to the high school. The path project is to take place along with work on State Highway 87 and utility replacements that are set for 2022.
The Frazee Post Office will soon offer 24-hour lobby access. New post office boxes with key-only access are also replacing the old combination lock boxes. The lobby had traditionally been open from Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9:15-10 a.m.
The Third Crossing Bar and Grill and liquor store reported a solid month of profit in March. During the monthly council meeting on April 9, the municipal establishment reported a $19,439 profit with $71,038 in revenues and $57,763 in expenses.
The Vergas Maple Syrup Festival drew a big crowd to the annual festival despite the cool temperatures. The day featured a pancake breakfast and a 5k than featured 50 entrants.

Vandals spray painted big tom this past week in Frazee with the number 98. Funds are being collected by the Frazee Community Club to replace the turkey by Turkey Days.
The City of Frazee will accept only amnesty items during the city-wide cleanup, and plans to charge to remove other items. The city-wide cleanup will be April 27-May 1. Becker County allows the city to bring in certain residential discards at no charge. These no charge items will be picked up by the city and hauled to the landfill for free. They include: refrigerators, stoves, freezers, washers, dryers, dishwashers, mattresses, box springs and passenger tires.
The Frazee Hornet girls track team, for the second year in a row, finished second to Pelican Rapids in the Heart O’ Lakes Conference indoor track meet at Wahpeton.

The Franklin Fence Co. in Vergas, owned by Gale Schmid, was destroyed by a fire during the night early Sunday. The 48×100 ft. wood frame building located downtown in Vergas, was completely leveled by the blaze. It was one of the oldest buildings in that community.
The School Board of the Frazee-Vergas School District accepted the resignations of three teachers effective at the end of this school year. The teachers were Gerald Johnson, Vo-Ag instructor; Valare Hammer, primary teacher; and Eugene Skoglund, mathematics and assistant coach in wrestling and football.
The newly organized Becker County Conciliation Court, or small claims court, will start on April 15. The new court program, provided by a recent bill, enables the public to present small claims without the additional expense of attorney fees.
