Motorists will encounter lane closures, flaggers

Motorists will encounter lane closures, flaggers and pilot cars on Highway 200 east of Mahnomen, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation. Contractor crews will resume road work that began last summer, finishing the remaining three miles of shoulder widening as well as replacing centerline culverts and approach pipes.

Motorists are urged to slow down in the work zone and obey traffic control.

Then, beginning Tuesday, May 30, motorists will also encounter additional traffic impacts near Roy Lake. Crews will be replacing a culvert, modifying the road alignment, and installing a path through the area.

The culvert replacement at Beatty Creek, which was originally planned as part of this project, will be completed at a later date.

The overall project included shoulder widening, pavement repairs, bridge and culvert replacements, turn lanes, and other safety and pedestrian accessibility improvements.
