Frazee police officer Bruce Anderson helped Mike Holmer, 7, son of Brian & Ivy of Frazee, get a child identification card at the bike rodeo Saturday in Frazee. Kids were finger-printed and had their pictures taken for the cards. Over 150 kids participated in the rodeo, well over organizers’ expectations.

JoAnn and Cal Steele were jarred from their bed at 3 a.m. Saturday, May 30 when a lightning bolt struck near their home. The bolt hit a storage shed near their house and drilled a hole in the ground one foot deep and 2 1/2 feet wide. It split the ground and tore sod in an 8-foot length. Aluminum cans stored in plastic bags in the shed developed holes, burned and were strewn all over the lawn. Oddly enough, out of 10 bags, remains of only one bag were found.
