Wednesday

Post 15 picked up a thrilling walk-off win over Wadena-Deer Creek on Wednesday as part of a doubleheader in Frazee.

Post 15 led nearly the entire way after Mark Jaroszewski hit a ground out to the second baseman that allowed Cael Pausch to cross the plate and give Frazee a 1-0 lead.

The game would remain 1-0 until the top of the seventh inning when Wadena-Deer Creek scored a run on a fielder’s choice and took a 2-1 lead on an error.

Down to their final out and the bases loaded, Jaroszewski hit an RBI single to bring Drew Mekalson across the plate to tie the game at 2-2. During the next at bat, Kale Ovsak stole home to give Post 15 a 3-2 win.

Ovsak, Caden Frank and Mekalson each led the way with 2 hits.

Asher Blaine picked up the win on the mound as he went all 7 innings and struck out 10 hitters. He surrendered just 2 hits and 1 earned run.

In the second game of the day, Frazee took a 4-2 lead in the top of the fifth inning, but couldn’t hang on after Wadena-Deer Creek scored 6 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to come away with a 9-4 win.

Post 15 took a 2-1 lead in the top of the third inning when Kale Ovsak hit an RBI single and Zach Longfors and would later score on a passed ball.

After Wadena-Deer Creek tied the game in the bottom of the fourth inning, Caden Frank hit a 2-run double to make the score 4-2 in favor of Frazee.

Unfortunately, Wadena-Deer Creek scored 1 run in the bottom half of the fifth inning and 6 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to pull away for good 9-4.

Frank led the way offensively with a pair of hits and 2 RBIs, while Mark Jaroszewski took the loss on the mound after pitching 6 innings and giving up 8 earned runs on 9 hits.
