The 4×400-meter relay team broke their own school record in each of their final three races, culminating at the state track meet on Friday night.

After qualifying in seventh place with a time of 4:06.55, the team of Elsie Ratz, Jayden Sonnenberg, Brynn Larson and Hailey Selly broke their own school record with a time of 4:04.83 to capture fourth place at the state track meet. That comes on the heels of setting a new school record of 4:07.53 in the section meet.

With a team full of underclassmen, the 4×400-meter relay team could make another run at a state tournament berth next season. Ratz and Selly are juniors, while Sonnenberg and Larson are just freshmen.

In addition to finishing in fourth place as part of the 4×400-meter relay team, Larson took 15th place in the high jump with a jump of 4’10”

On the boys side, Brady Crabtree finished in fifth place in the pole vault with a vault of 13’. He was just 3” short of fourth place individually. Crabtree is just a junior at Frazee High School.

The state track meet was held at St. Michael-Albertville High School from June 8-10.
