Local students graduate from M-State

The following students are among the 555 Minnesota State Community and Technical College (M State) graduates of the 2023 spring semester. M State has campuses in Detroit Lakes, Fergus Falls, Moorhead and Wadena.

Local students include: Faith Hamm, Frazee, Liberal Arts & Sciences-AA; Aaron Klemm, Frazee, Architectural Drafting and Design-AAS; Andrew Kulik, Frazee, Plumbing-Diploma; Payton Lange, Frazee, Associate Degree Nursing-AS; Katja Mohn, Frazee, Early Childhood-Certificate and Kiley Pederson, Vergas, Associate Degree Nursing-AS.

MSUM announces spring Dean’s List

The following students have been named to the Minnesota State University Moorhead Dean’s List in recognition of academic achievement spring semester 2023. Students must maintain a 3.25 or higher grade-point average and carry 12 graded credits to qualify for the honor.  

Local students named to the list include: Abby Nagel, Frazee, Elementary Inclusive Education; William Mickelson, Frazee, Project Management; Danielle Piche, Frazee, Life Science Education, Chemistry Education; TJ Gillaspey, Vergas BFA Art; Ashley Hokanson, Dent, Accounting; Braylee Riewer, Frazee, Early Childhood Education and Kathryn Wilkowski, Frazee, Multimedia Journalism. 

  MSU Moorhead is a comprehensive university enrolling 4,679 students and offering more than 125 majors, emphases and options, 15 graduate degree programs, and 39 certificate programs. 

Area students earn honors, degrees at UM-Crookston

  The University of Minnesota Crookston announces students who were named to the Spring 2023 Chancellor’s List recently released by the Office of the Registrar. To qualify for the Chancellor’s List, students must complete 12 or more letter-graded (A-F) credits while attaining a 4.0 grade point average. 

Students named to the Chancellor’s List include Michelle Swyter from Frazee.

Swyter earned her Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources, along with Frazee’s Mya Conway, who graduated with a Bachelor of Science in English.

CLC announces spring honors lists 

  Central Lakes College, Brainerd and Staples, has announced its 2023 spring semester honors lists. Broden Fleisher of Frazee was named to the Dean’s List.

The President’s List includes 399 students who earned a grade-point average of 3.75 to 4.0 while enrolled for at least 12 credits. The Dean’s List includes 302 students who earned a grade-point average of 3.25 to 3.74. 

Central Lakes College is a comprehensive community and technical college in the Minnesota State System. The college serves about 5,500 students annually in liberal arts and career education programs. 

Local students graduate from ATCC

More than 600 graduates were honored during the 2022-2023 academic year at Alexandria Technical & Community College. The spring commencement ceremony was held May 10, 2023 at the Runestone Community Center in Alexandria.
