Otter Tail County Commissioners will host a community event at Perham City Hall at 125 Second Avenue on Wednesday, July 19, from 6:30-9 p.m. This is not a board of commissioners meeting but an opportunity to engage with commissioners and learn about Otter Tail County projects in the area.

Chuck Johnson of Perham will perform his three-act play “The Night Before Gettysburg.”  Johnson will perform from 6:30-7:15 p.m., presenting “a peek into President Abraham Lincoln’s state of mind as he put the finishing touches on his immortal Gettysburg Address.”

Commissioner Dan Bucholz, District 1, encourages residents to stop by the open house.

“We are glad to have a Perham native performing his play at the open house, and we look forward to seeing people from around the area,” he said.

Residents will have the opportunity to visit County Commissioners following the play at approximately 7:15 p.m.

Employees from several service areas will be available to share information and answer questions. Light refreshments will be served.

Staff from the Solid Waste Department will be on hand for residents interested in signing up for the new food waste drop-off site in Perham. If you cannot attend but are interested in the Organics Recycling Pilot Program that collects food waste, please get in touch with Cedar Walters at cwalters@co.ottertail.mn.us for information or to join the program.

Highway department staff will share with community members the upcoming transportation projects. Attendees can learn more about the OTC511 app for residents and visitors to view detours and ongoing construction and maintenance work on area roads.

Residents will find various local opportunities related to housing, child care, emergency preparedness, and more. Everyone is welcome.
