Frazee Post 15 outhit Barnesville by a 13-6 margin, but left 9 runners on base and fell by a score of 8-7 on July 16. The loss ended Frazee’s Legion season in the playoffs with a record of 7-13.

Frazee did almost all of its damage in the third and fourth innings as they scored a combined 6 runs to jump out to a commanding 6-2 lead.

Kale Ovsak got things going in the top of the third inning when he led off the inning with a single. He would score the next batter later on an errant throw on a Caden Frank single. Zach Longfors was hit by a pitch and scored on hitter later when Mark Jaroszewski hit an RBI double to make the score 2-1 in favor of Frazee. Asher Blaine followed with a fielder’s choice to make the score 3-1.

Barnesville made the score 3-2 in the bottom half of the third inning when a batter was hit with the bases loaded. Post 15 followed up with 3 more runs in the top of the fourth inning when Ovsak followed with an RBI single that brought 2 runners across the plate and Jaroszewski followed with a bases loaded single to make the score 6-2 in favor of Frazee.

Barnesville cut the lead to 6-5 in the bottom half of the fourth inning on a 3-run home run over the left field fence and took the lead in the bottom of the sixth inning on another home run, this time as a 2-run shot to give them a 7-6 lead.

Down to their final three outs, Post 15 had the opening two hitters of the top of the seventh inning go down in order before Post reached on an error and Logan Brekke hit a single to put runners on the corners with two outs. Scott Seim followed with a two out RBI single to tie the game up at 7-7.

Unfortunately, Barnesville got a two out single of their own to bring the winning run across the plate and make the score 8-7 in favor of Barnesville.

As a team, Frazee pumped out 13 hits and was led by Ovsak, Frank, Jaroszewski, Post and Brekke who all finished with 2 hits apiece.

Post took the loss on the mound after coming in for relief of Zach Longfors. Post pitched 2 1/3 innings and gave up 3 hits, 3 earned runs and 2 walks in the loss.
