Notes from the Chief
I had sort of a mini vacation last week. I spent a couple days in Duluth attending ALICE training. Mr. Nagel from the elementary school was there also. ALICE stands for Alert Lockdown Inform Counter Evacuate. This training is meant to coincide with a Violent Critical Incident (VCI) that can happen in these trying times. I have been part of the ALICE training in the past, but now we have local instructors, so hopefully we can implement and stay updated on training and tactics if there were to be a VCI.
I also had the chance to look at a pickup that I found on the Facebook Marketplace that was near Duluth. I am looking for a one ton dually to replace the diesel that I have been driving. It has turned into a money pit, and I am done dealing with the lumber wagon. I did take this other pickup for a test drive, and it didn’t jump at me to take it home. As I was driving it on a test drive, I’m thinking to myself, I already have 4 of these jalopies at home and I don’t want to drive this one 250 miles without a cruise control.
The pastures are holding together but barely. We will bring them home soon to put into our pasture rotation system on the farm. The bulls will also be pulled soon to keep the calving season short and sweet.
