Boys cross country team takes 16th place

The Frazee Hornet cross country team kicked off their season on Saturday at the annual Brave Like Gabe cross country meet in Perham. The meet was held at Arvig Park in Perham and featured a wide collection of teams from south of the Twin Cities to as far west as North Dakota.

Jonah Sharp paced the boys team on Saturday as he took 71st place with a time of 19:18.90, while Brady Borah finished right on his heels as he took 78th place with a time of 19:55.90. Hunter Piekarski took 92nd place with a time of 21:13.50, Cael Pausch took 102nd place with a time of 21:53.70, Alex Helmers took 115th place with a time of 23:28.40 and Daniel Winn rounded out the team as he took 136th place with a time of 28:38.20. 

Alex Helmers kicked off his senior year in cross country with a 115th place finish at the Brave Like Gabe cross country meet on Saturday.

As a team the boys finished in 16th place overall with a team score of 440. 

On the girls side, eighth grader Madi Perrine led the way with a 55th place with a time of 22:30.20. Lola Hoehne took 68th place with a time of 23:33.60, Bristol Larsen took 103rd place with a time of 26:24.80, Caleigh Pausch took 116th place with a time of 28:38.90 and Emersyn Wake finished in 131st place with a time of 34:08.90.

As a team the Hornets finished in 14th place with a team score of 405.
