Frazee posted its second straight shut out as the Hornets blanked Warroad 35-0 on Friday night. The win improves the Hornets to 2-0 on the season after a pair of tough losses to open the season.

“It’s been good seeing our kids and how they have responded to our challenge,” said head coach Russ Hackel. “That was one of our goals was to have a zero on the scoreboard.”

Brady Crabtree led a powerful Frazee running attack on Friday night as he rushed 25 times for 216 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Crabtree scored a pair of first quarter touchdown runs from 8 yards and 13 yards out to put the Hornets in front by a score of 14-0 after he connected on both point after attempts.

Crabtree added a touchdown in the second quarter on an 8-yard run and brought the scoring to a close in the fourth quarter on a 51-yard scamper to put Frazee in front 35-0. Frazee also scored on a 7-yard run in the third quarter.

“A pretty solid performance by our offensive line and Brady Crabtree has been our go to guy this year. He has really stepped in as our running back that we have been going to a lot,” said Hackel.

As a team, the Hornets outgained the Warroad Warriors by a 325 to 92 yard margin. Frazee rushed for 306 yards, while adding 19 yards through the air. Warroad passed for just 65 yards and rushed for 27 yards.

The big difference in the game came from turnovers as the Frazee defense forced 5 turnovers, compared to just losing one interception of their own.

“Our defense has played well. It is always a good thing when that happens,” said Hackel.

The Hornets will have a tough test in front of them as they travel to Pelican Rapids on Friday night to take on the 3-1 Vikings. Hackel said Pelican Rapids is big and physical up front and will present a difficult match up for the Hornets. However, the Hornets will look to keep their winning streak alive in an important Section 8AA contest.
