The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) has recognized Essentia Health for its leadership in the use of technology.

This is the fourth consecutive year Essentia has been cited as a technology leader by CHIME.

“Technology is a major component in the high-quality care delivered to the patients we are privileged to serve,” said Chuck Watson, Essentia’s chief information officer. “This recognition supports Essentia Health’s ongoing investment and focus on digital health. I am extremely proud of the Information Services team for their hard work and dedication.”

Among the more than 55,000 health care facilities represented on CHIME’s Digital Health Most Wired Survey, Essentia ranked highly in categories like analytics and data management, population health, infrastructure and patient engagement. The survey assesses the adoption, integration and impact of technologies in health care organizations at all stages of development, from early development to industry leading.

Using a scale of 1-10, organizations that are certified at level 9 or 10 are considered industry leaders. Essentia was certified at level 9 for both acute and ambulatory settings. Of the 55,000 organizations that were graded, only 127 received a level 9 or 10 on the acute survey, and only 118 received a level 9 or 10 on the ambulatory survey.
