Ariana Doll of Frazee was recently nominated to the  to the U.S. Naval and U.S. Air Force Academies by Rep. Michelle Fishbach.

Each year, Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach has the opportunity to nominate students to the U.S. Military Academy (USMA) in West Point, N.Y.; the U.S. Naval Academy (USNA) in Annapolis, Md.; the U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA) in Colorado Springs, Colo.; and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) in Kings Point, N.Y.

This year, Congresswoman Fischbach nominated nine high school seniors, including Arianna Doll from Frazee and Avery Browen of Detroit Lakes, for the service academies. 

If the students are accepted, upon their graduation the cadets will earn a Bachelor of Science degree and become commissioned as an officer in the U.S. military with a requirement to serve a minimum of five years in active-duty service.

Individuals who are interested in attending a service academy can apply directly to Congresswoman Fischbach’s office. The Congresswoman’s Service Academy Board interviews candidates and makes nomination recommendations.
