Friday, Dec. 1

Just three days after securing a win in their regular season opener, the Frazee Hornets hosted Breckenridge in their Heart O’ Lakes Conference opener on Friday, Dec. 1. Unfortunately, the Cowgirls opened an early lead and led by 17 points at halftime on their way to a 58-46 win over the Hornets.

Despite the early deficit, the Hornets fought back in the second half and trailed by just 6 points at one point in the second half.

“We had a tough night of shooting, but showed a lot of strength hanging with a very talented Breck team,” said head coach Trey Heinsius.

The Frazee head coach credited the play of Analise Olson throughout the game as she came off the bench and not only played exceptional defense, but hit three big 3-point shots to tie for a team-high 11 points in the game. Also finishing the night with 11 points was Brynn Larson and Jayden Sonnenberg. Riyan Eckert scored 8 points and Katie Courneya rounded out the scoring with 5 points.
