The Detroit Lakes gymnastics team finished in sixth place at the annual Jackie Mann Invitational in Perham on Saturday, Dec. 2. The Lakers finished with a score of 132.85, which was just .15 points behind Watertown-Mayer/Mound-Westonka for fourth place. Minnetonka finished just .1 points ahead of the Lakers for fifth place. 

Frazee-Vergas High School senior Elsie Ratz, who competes for Detroit Lakes, took fifth place in the all-around competition with a score of 33.8. She took fourth place in the floor with a score of 9.25 and led the Lakers in the all-around competition. 

On the beam, fellow FHS student Kaija Aschnewitz finished in sixth place on the beam with a score of 8.5. She was the top scorer for the Lakers in the event with Ratz taking second place on the team with a score of 8.25.
