Matt Ulschmid

Matt Ulschmid (E-1) of Frazee graduated from Basic Training on Thursday, Jan. 4, at Lacklund Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. All graduates head to their respective technical training locations on Friday. 

Ulschmid has begun eight weeks of a Special Warfare Candidate Course (SWCC), a course designed for students coming out of basic and prior enlisted to prepare for the ultimate challenge of Assessment and Selection (A&S) or the Special (TACP) selection school. 

Matt’s brother Alex Ulschmid (EMN-3) completed Advanced Nuclear Power Course training at the Naval Nuclear Power School in Charleston, S.C., on April 1, 2022. He is currently serving on the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Dwight Eisenhower in the Red Sea as a Nuclear Electricians Mate.

Matt and Alex are two of six Ulschmid children to Scott and Jennie Ulschmid and the grandsons of Tom and Donna Ulschmid, Robert Ludtke, and Mark and Connie Koehnen.
