Community and Economic Development Associates (CEDA), with gratitude for a special appropriation from the State of Minnesota, is pleased to announce the selected grant recipients for the Rural Capacity Program.

This initiative, designed to foster economic development in cities with populations under 3,000 in Greater Minnesota, aims to support communities facing challenges related to staff capacity, finances, or economic development knowledge.

The following cities have been chosen as recipients of the Rural Capacity Program grant: Warroad, Vergas, Baudette, Mahnomen, Orr, New York Mills, Clarkfield, Danvers, Cottonwood, Kiester, Newfolden, Buhl, De Graff, Parkers Prairie, Rushmore, Elmore, Grand Meadow, New Richland.

Each of these deserving cities will receive 150 hours of technical service and a grant of $15,000 to further their respective projects.

The grant funds are intended to empower these communities in overcoming obstacles and realizing their economic development goals.

The Rural Capacity Program aligns with CEDA’s commitment to fostering sustainable growth in smaller communities. By providing both financial resources and technical expertise, CEDA aims to bridge the gaps and empower these cities to thrive.

“We are thrilled to support these communities in their economic development efforts,” said Ron Zeigler, CEDA CEO. “The Rural Capacity Program reflects our dedication to enhancing the economic vitality of smaller cities in Minnesota, addressing specific challenges they face, and ultimately contributing to their long-term success.”
