Frazee Community Development officially transferred ownership of the Wannigan Regional Park land to the City of Frazee in December of 2023. The purchase was funded by the State of Minnesota through its Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund.

A group of long-term volunteers originally came together as Frazee Community Development and the Wannigan Park Committee to buy and hold the land while the city completed its due diligence. We thank our supporters who made this dream a reality.

Plans are to open the park this spring and summer with special events. Construction on phase one amenities are targeted for 2025-2026. More information and park photos can be found at www.wanniganpark.com.

The Wannigan Park Committee is seeking public input on the latest plans and needs to hear from everyone. Our survey is available at https://forms.gle/1NCRB7daumJ4QQov9, or the QR code included, or at the Frazee City Hall.

An open house is being held at the Frazee Event Center on Thursday, Feb 22 from 4:30-6 p.m., with a short presentation at 5:30 p.m. Come for a free light supper, see our latest plans and, most importantly, provide input. After the open house, the Frazee Community Club will meet, and everyone is invited to stay.
