Two-vehicle accident occured on February 11

An 83-year-old, Frazee woman was killed in a two-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 10 on Sunday, Feb. 11.

At approximately 8:03 a.m. Jolene Gail Herr, 47, of Wadena was driving a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee eastbound on Highway 10 in the left lane. A 2004 Buick LeSabre, driven by Fern Bernice Brown, 83, attempted to cross the eastbound lanes of Highway 10 from 290th Avenue and pulled out in front of the Jeep causing the Jeep to collide into the driver’s side of the Buick.

Herr and a passenger, Jaden Joelle Herr, 21, were taken to Essentia Emergency Room with non-life threatening injuries.

Brown was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident occurred on dry pavement. All three occupants were wearing seat belts and alcohol was determined to not be a factor in the crash.

The Becker County Sheriff’s Office and Detroit Lakes Fire Department assisted the State Patrol at the scene.
