Dave Harman was drafted by the Major League Baseball League’s Texas Rangers in the 24th round in 1983. Now, the Detroit Lakes resident is offering area pitchers an opportunity to improve their skills. One of those players if Frazee High School freshman Scott Seim. The son of Stacy and Diane Seim found his way to working with the former professional right-handed 6’3” pitcher after doing a little research online. Stacy shared his son had shown a preference for the sport of baseball, with hours upon hours spent in the back yard throwing pitches against the fence.

The bowling lanes at Zee Lanes in Frazee were recently removed and rural Frazee resident Chuck Wake decided to make one into a dining table. “We heard Pat (Fury) was getting rid of the lanes, and there is a lot of nostalgia with those lanes,” he said. “Families and friends gathered there and had good times. We wanted to bring a piece of that home.” The Wakes, who happened to be remodeling their kitchen, contacted Furey and inquired how much a 4-foot wide by 8-foot long section would cost. It fell in their price range, so they placed an order.

A portion of the old elevator on West Main Avenue may fall to give way to a new church in Frazee. At Monday’s Frazee City Council meeting, Becker County Economic Developer Al Roder outlined a plan to assist in the removal of a portion of the old elevator located across the street from City Hall. The council approved a plan to work with a West Central Initiative Fund grant to help with the cost of demolishing the middle portion of the old elevator and mill. The city agreed to enter into a matching grant program with West Central.

There’s a new vehicle in town and it’s getting a lot of attention. It’s a large, luxurious-looking, 45-foot, 57-passenger 1999 Van Cool motor coach, made in Belgium. It’s the newest acquisition of Anderson Bus Co. of Frazee—sort of. It’s size and passenger capacity compares to 40 feet and 47 passengers in most motor coaches. A newly-created subsidiary of Anderson Bus Co., Anderson Coach of Frazee, owns the motor coach.
