Becker County CTIC transition resource fair set for April 23

0Connecting teens with disabilities to after-school resources
The Becker County Community Transition Interagency Committee (CTIC) will be holding a Transition Resource fair at M-State on Tuesday, April 23, from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
“Our goal is for it to be like an informative resource fair for teens and young adults with disabilities to learn about the different resources that are available after high school,” said Organizer Jennifer Wendlandt, a case manager at Blue Sky, Inc.
The Becker County Transition Resource Fair aims to connect students and their parent/guardians with various resources, services, and opportunities to support their transition to post-secondary education, training, or employment, including:
• Obtaining information about post-secondary resources for teens and young adults with disabilities.
• Receiving resource information on how to make the best choices when transitioning from high school into the community, and
• Community agencies will be available to answer questions about life after high school.
There will be at least 20 vendors on hand to provide information to individuals with disabilities for life after high school, including:
• MN Flyers Gymnastics
• Rural MN CEP
• Disability Hub
• Stellher Human Services
• Becker County DAC
• Blue Sky, Inc
• Freedom Resources
• Lutheran Social Services Host Homes
• The Arc
• Project SEARCH
• Project LIFE/Laker Trek
• Solutions Behavioral Healthcare Professionals, P.C
• MState Accessibility Resources
• Becker County Human Services
• Vocational Rehabilitation Services
• Kelly Services
• NDSU TAP
• CCRI/Creative Care Moorhead
Students from surrounding schools are welcome. The fair will be held in Room C101 on the M State Detroit Lakes campus.
