Senator Jordan Rasmusson (R-Fergus Falls) shows the District 9 winning art creation by Fergus Falls Secondary student Kassidy Papon.

Last fall, the Minnesota Senate invited K-12 students throughout the state to submit photos or drawings that highlight life in their community. One artwork per Senate District was recently chosen to hang in the Minnesota Senate Building for the rest of 2024.

In District 9, Kassidy Papon of Kennedy Secondary School in Fergus Falls was named this year’s winner of the Senate’s My District, My Minnesota art competition. Senator Jordan Rasmusson (R-Fergus Falls) chose Kassidy’s work and has invited her to the Senate building to view the work on display.

“Congratulations to Kassidy on being selected for this year’s My District, My Minnesota art competition!” Senator Rasmusson said. “This is a wonderful representation of the agricultural tradition of District 9, and it is an honor to display your artwork at the Minnesota Senate Building.”
