0Finish was the highest HOL finish of his career
The Frazee Hornets participated in two meets last week the first was in Moorhead at the Meadows for a conference meet. The wind was crazy at the start and just got stronger. The boys did a nice job of adjusting to the wind and played solid golf.
Ben Reierson led the way for the Hornets shooting 86. That was good enough for third place on the day, which gave him a medal. He just was solid, hitting it in the wind all day. This is the highest finish for him in his career.
Cayden Wallin also played well, shooting 92, which was good enough for 12th on the day. He has been playing so consistently lately.
Tyler Lindell a sophomore for the Hornets shot a respectable 104 and Brodie Masbauch an eighth grader shot 105 in these tough conditions. As they both get more experience their games continue to grow.
In the second meet of the week the Hornets traveled to Barnesville for another HOL meet. The weather finally was extremely nice and gave the guys a chance to score.
Eighth grader Ben Reierson was again able to put together a nice round and get a medal on the day. He shot 77, which was good enough for sixth place. He said his chipping game gave him some great opportunities to score. He spent extra time on the range working on that the night before and was able to card three birdies which always help the score.
Cayden Wallin, a sophomore, was so solid again working his way around the course with a bunch of pars. He shot just two over on the back. He has been working on finishing stronger and this was a good case for that. He ended with an 81, which helped him finish in 11th place. Head coach Jason Reierson said it is fun to see all his hard work pay off.
A couple of seniors came along on the beautiful day. Danny Winn shot 121 and just could not get anything going all day. Tanyen Moore shot his best round of the year scoring 103. He was somewhat satisfied, but wants to get under 100 before year’s end. The season is winding down with only two meets left before sections.
