The Frazee boys golf varsity only competed in one meet this week. The meet was at Perham Lakeside Golf Course, which will be the site of the section meet.
It was a very nice day to play golf and some guys took advantage. Cayden Wallin and Ben Reierson both shot 83 for the meet. This was good enough for a tie for 10th. These two have been playing very nice golf as of late and hope to continue that going into the HOL final at Balmoral. They were both just steady all day long with a bunch of pars.
Eighth grader Brodie Masbauch shot 97 and is still trying to find that consistent go to swing. Tyler Lndell shot 110 and was disappointed with his round. He did have some adversity to try to overcome with a broken strap on his bag.
The JV/JH had two meets last week. Both were 18-hole events, which is good for them as they transition to more varsity time. The first meet of the week was in Hawley. Gavin Pope shot 111 and is becoming more consistent with his game. Tristan Maijala, an eighth grader shot 117. Matthew Lindell was next at 120, and Carter Labbe, a newcomer ened the day with a 130. Head coach Jason Reierson said the meet was a great experience for these guys to see what it takes to compete in the HOL.
The second meet saw them go to Forest Hills in Detroit Lakes. This is not a conference course, but is a nice challenge for them. Brodie Masbauch and Tyler Lindell wanted to go to this meet to see if they could work on their games a bit. Both had good days, Masbauch shooting 96 and Lindell shooting 101. They are both looking to get those scores down to the low 90’s yet this year.
Gavin Pope and Tristan Maijala both scored 117, which is a decent score for this challenging course. Matthew Lindell rounded out the team shooting 119. These guys just need to dedicate themselves a bit more to putting in the practice and these scores will drop.
