Frazee dropped a pair of games last week against Parkers Prairie.

The Frazee Post 15 legion baseball team dropped a pair of games to the Class A state runner up Parkers Prairie legion team last week.

Post 15 dropped the first game by a score of 5-0, before falling 6-4 in the nightcap.

In the opening game of the night Parkers Prairie broke a scoreless tie with a two out RBI single in the top of the third inning. Parkers Prairie scored three more runs in the fourth inning and another run in the fifth inning to come away with the 5-0 win. 

Despite being shut out, and coming away with only two hits, Post 15 had several chances to get a run across the plate in the game. Frazee had runners on first and second base in both the second and fifth innings. 

Frazee was led offensively by Drew Mekalson and Zach Longfors who both finished with a single in the game. 

Asher Blaine took the loss on the mound as he went five innings and gave up four hits, two earned runs and struck out five hitters. Longfors pitched two innings in relief and gave up just two hits and struck out one hitter. 

In the second game of the night, Post 15 jumped out to an early lead, but couldn’t hang on as Parkers Prairie scored one run in the first, second and third inning, while adding three runs in the fourth inning to come away with a 6-4 win. 

Cael Pausch led off the game by reaching on an error. Asher Blaine was hit with one out, before Derek Zitzow blasted a home run over the left field fence to give Frazee a 3-0 lead. 

Parkers Prairie chipped away at the lead with single runs in the first, second and third innings to tie the game, before they scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to take a 6-3 lead. Frazee added a run in the top of the seventh inning when Andrew Aho scored with two outs to end the scoring and game by a score of 6-4 in favor of Parkers Prairie. 

Frazee collected three hits in the win with Cael Pausch, Drew Mekalson and Derek Zitzow coming away with one hit apiece. Zitzow took the loss on the mound by going four innings, giving up six hits, four earned runs and striking out three hitters.
