The Frazee Post 15 Legion baseball team split a pair of games with New York Mills last week.

Post 15 won the opening game of the night by a score of 8-5, before falling in the nightcap by a score of 15-4. 

In the opening game of the night, Frazee posted a big six run top of the sixth inning to blow past NY mills by a score of 8-5. Trailing 2-1 heading into the top of the inning, Chase Ulrich was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to tie the game at 2-2. Andrew Aho hit a two-run double with one out, before Jesse Rollins hit a two-run single to make the score 6-2 in favor of Post 15. Frazee made the score 7-2 later in the inning when Drew Mekalson hit a two out RBI single that brought Rollins across the plate. 

NY Mills made a game of it later when they scored three runs in the bottom half of the inning to cut Frazee’s lead to 7-5, before Logan Brekke gave Post 15 a bit of insurance with an RBI single with two outs to put Frazee up 8-5. 

NY Mills was able to load up the bases and bring the winning run to the plate with two outs, before Asher Blaine was able to force a ground out to second base against the only hitter he faced to end the game by a score of 8-5. 

Derek Zitzow led the way offensively with a pair of hits, while Aho and Rollins both had a pair of RBIs. 

In the second game of the night, Post 15 and NY Mills combined for just seven hits, but four Frazee errors proved to be the difference in a 15-4 loss to NY Mills. 

Trailing 10-1 in the top of the fifth inning, Zach Longfors earned a bases loaded walk to score one run and Derek Zitzow followed with a two-run single to make the score 10-4 in favor of NY Mills.

The game ended in the bottom half of the inning when NY Mills scored five runs to end the game by the 10-run rule. 

Zitzow led the way offensively with a single and two RBIs.
