Tony and Linda Beck receive the Red River Valley Outstanding Farm Leaders Award from Bruce Hein, Red River Valley Development Association President, at the Becker County Fair on Saturday, Aug. 10.

Tony and Linda Beck of rural Wolf Lake received the Red River Valley Outstanding Farm Leaders Award for Becker County at the County Fair’s Agriculture Awards program on Saturday August 10.

The Becks are one of 16 couples from the 14 counties along the Red River Valley, based on their impact on the farming industry, their service to their community, and how they have lived and worked to enhance the quality of life in northwest Minnesota.

This is an annual award given by the Red River Valley Development Association since 1939. Tony’s parents, Roy and Gloria Beck, received this award in 1987. Tony and Linda run a fourth generation farm south of Wolf Lake.

Over the years their farming operation has consisted of dairy cattle, beef cattle and crops. Their son Josh works on the farm with them. The Becks are members of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at Evergreen. They have held leadership positions in their church, the Perham Co-op Association, as well as the Becker Soil and Water Conservation District and the Red Eye River and Crow Wing River Watershed District.
