Frazee to host Pelican Rapids on Friday night

The Frazee Hornets picked up their second straight win with a 34-24 victory over the Warroad Warriors on Friday night. The Hornets were able to dominate the time of possession as they rushed 40 times for 202 yards and held Warroad to just 163 yards of total offense. Much of the damage done by Warroad came through the air as they completed 6-14 passes for 102 yards, while they managed to rush just 16 times for 66 yards. 

The Hornets, on the other hand, accumulated 264 yards of offense thanks to a dominating rushing attack and completing 4-10 passing for 62 yards.

Both teams struggled a bit when it came to fourth downs as the Hornets went 2-12 on third down, while the Warriors went 1-6. The difference came on fourth down as Frazee went 3-6 on fourth downs, compared to 0-2 for Warroad. 

Adam Vigen led the Hornets through the air as he went 4-10 for 62 yards. Mason Mickelson caught two passes for 44 yards, while Dawson Lyman caught one pass for 13 yards and Carter Sonnenberg caught one pass for five yards.

Tanner Moe led the Hornets in rushing with nine carries for 50 yards, while Mickelson added five rushes for 50 yards, Cade Nagel rushed seven times for 42 yards, Dawson Lyman rushed 12 times for 38 yards and Vigen rushed seven times for 22 yards.

Moe led the team with four tackles, while Mickelson chipped in with three tackles of his own. 

Individual scoring stats were not available at the time of press. 

This week the 2-2 Hornets will remain at home as they will host a 3-1 Pelican Rapids team. The Vikings are currently averaging 38.2 points per game on offense, whiling giving up 20.8 points per game on defense. Last week they defeated Crookston 59-12 and have also picked up wins against Breckenridge by a score of 26-6 and Warroad by a score of 52-27. Their lone loss came at the hands of Barnesville by a score of 38-16.

Frazee comes into the game averaging 22.2 points per game on offense, while giving up 32.2 points per game on defense.
