On September 15 at approximately 2:15 p.m., the Becker County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a motorcycle crash on Co. Rd. 135, near the intersection of 285th Street, south of the village of Two Inlets, Minn.

Preliminary investigation indicates the 2019 Harley Davidson, driven by Curtis Duane Hermanson, age 58, of New York Mills, Minn., was northbound on Co. Rd. 135. 

At the intersection of 285th Street, the pavement ends and turns to gravel. When the motorcycle hit the gravel, the driver lost control causing the motorcycle to go down. Hermanson and his passenger, Amanda Marie Weller, age 44, of Wadena, Minn., were both injured and airlifted to Fargo area hospitals with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. Neither were wearing helmets.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Carsonville Fire and Rescue, Park Rapids Fire Department, Hubbard Rescue, Essentia-St. Mary’s EMS, North Memorial Ambulance, North Memorial Air Ambulance, and Life Link 111 Air Ambulance.

The incident remains under investigation.
