Hornets compete at Border Battle cross country meet

The Frazee cross country team wrapped up a busy end of the week at one of the largest meets in the tri-state area at the Border Battle in Grand Forks. The meet included teams from three different states and Canada.
Saturday’s meet comes on the heels of the annual John Hermes Invitational in Fergus Falls on Thursday.
This week the Hornets will travel to Hawley on Thursday night in their lone meet of the week.
Thursday
The Frazee Hornets made the trek to Fergus Falls on Thursday night for the annual John Hermes Invitational. The Hornets competed against some rather large schools in the meet, that included Saint Cloud Apollo, Perham, Lake Park-Audubon, Hillcrest, Fergus Falls, Breckenridge and Alexandria.
On the girls side, Lola Hoehne led the way with a 29th place with a time of 24:19, while Brooklyn Riewer finished in 34th place with a time of 25:31. Bristol Larsen was right on her tail as she finished in 38th place with a time of 26:30, Madi Perrine finished in 39th place with a time of 27:08 and Caleigh Pausch finished in 44th place with a time of 29:39.
On the boys side, Jonah Sharp led the charge with a 26th place finish in a time of 20:00. Paul Sharp finished in 30th place with a time of 20:45, Talon Hoverson finished in 35th place with a time of 21:39 and Eli Heston finished in 41st place with a time of 26:08.
Saturday
The Frazee cross country team traveled to Grand Forks on Saturday for the annual Border Battle. The meet featured teams from Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Canada.
On the boys side, Jonah Sharp led the way with a 91st place finish with a time of 19:-4. Paul Sharp took 143rd place with a time of 20:10, Talon Hoverson finished in 186th place with a time of 21:11 and Eli Heston finished in 240th place with a time of 23:54.
There were a total of 258 varsity boys entered in the Class A race.
On the girls side, Lola Hoehne led the charge with a 103rd place with a time of 23:26, while Brooklynn Riewer took 162nd place with a time of 25:22, Madilyn Perrine took 179th place with a time of 26:03, Bristol Larsen took 180th place with a time of 26:04 and Caleigh Pausch took 193rd place with a time of 26:38.
There were a total of 225 entrants in the Class A girls race.
