The seventh annual Wine Walk in Vergas is set for October 19 from 12-4 p.m.

Vergas will be hosting the next village event, the 7th annual Wine Walk, from 12-4 p.m., on Saturday, Oct. 19.

“It’s really turned into a signature event in town,” said Vergas Community Club President Sherri Hanson.

Participants visit Vergas businesses to enjoy sampling wines and appetizers while shopping.

“We hope that people support each business and do some shopping too,” said Organizer Natalie Fischer.

Each business has a specific wine, chosen by Vergas Municipal Liquor Store Manager Kyle Theisen and appetizers catered by Spanky’s Stone Hearth.

Each business has a map and entry form. Pick one up at your first stop and turn the entry form in at the last business visited or at the Vergas Liquor Store by 8 p.m., to be entered into a drawing for prizes.

You must visit every participating business to qualify for the door prizes. Each of the businesses donates one of the prizes. Winners will be posted on the Vergas Community Club Facebook page the following day.

Legally, the businesses are allowed to only serve two ounces of wine at each stop.

Not all of the businesses are downtown. There are a few listed out of town like Lost Highway Pottery and Forest Edge Gallery. Visit the Vergas Community Club Facebook page for updated information.

Participants must be 21 years of age or older with identification available.
