0County Buildings to Shine Green Nov. 4-11 to Support Veterans
In advance of the upcoming Veterans Day holiday, Otter Tail County is joining the nationwide Operation Green Light initiative, illuminating county buildings in green from November 4-11. The initiative aims to raise awareness of the challenges veterans face and highlight available resources at all levels of government.
“Lighting our county buildings green is a simple but powerful way to show our appreciation for veterans,” said Otter Tail County Veterans Service Officer Robb Emerson. “We want veterans to know that we are here to support them.”
In addition to county efforts, residents and businesses are encouraged to participate by changing one light bulb to green. This may foster community support for veterans and their families.
“We hope to see green lights shining throughout the county as a symbol of gratitude and support,” said Commissioner Kurt Mortenson. “By participating, we honor the service and sacrifice of our veterans.”
The county’s Veterans Service Office provides resources and advocacy to veterans, their dependents, and survivors, ensuring they can access the care and assistance they need. Please call (218) 998-8605 or (218) 385-5540 area to discuss individual needs and schedule an appointment.
