A White Earth man was arrested on multiple warrants on Sunday, Oct. 27.

According to the Becker County Sheriff’s Office, deputies went to a residence in White Earth at 7:45 p.m., to locate Robert James Azure, Sr., 50, of White Earth. Azure was wanted on both felony and misdemeanor arrest warrants.

After being given permission to search the residence, a deputy saw a male and recognized him as Azure. After Azure was advised that he was under arrest, he locked himself inside a bedroom and made threatening statements that he was going to shoot the deputies.

Several additional deputies responded to the scene, including officers from White Earth and Callaway. 

At approximately 8:42 p.m., Azure voluntarily came out of his bedroom and was taken into custody. Azure was booked into the Becker County Jail on warrants out of Mahnomen and Becker Counties for felony drug possession and burglary, and misdemeanor warrants for violation of an order for protections and domestic assault. The investigation is pending.
