Kip Peltoniemi is a rare talent in the world of accordion, blending genres such as blues, country, rock and traditional Finnish tunes to create a sound that defies expectations.

“I hardly play any accordion music,” Peltoniemi said. “I play music from many genres and see the accordion as a means of expression—it can be big or subtle.”

With a career spanning several decades, Peltoniemi’s music and wit have captivated audiences across the United States and internationally. His album “Minnesota Tango” was named “Folk Album of the Year” in 2002 by Finland’s largest newspaper, Helsingin Sanomat. He has been the subject of two documentaries on Finland’s YLE public television network and has taught at Finland’s esteemed Sibelius Academy.

Inspired by his Finnish roots, Peltoniemi began performing in the 1960s with his brother Eric, sharing music, comedy, and storytelling at events across Minnesota. Peltoniemi continues to enchant audiences with tales of family heritage, Finnish culture, and his unique musical journey.

Whether you’re a music enthusiast, a fan of Finnish culture, or just looking for a fun night out, this is an event you won’t want to miss. Peltoniemi’s blend of music, storytelling, and humor makes for an evening that’s as entertaining as it is musically rich.

Doors open at 7 p.m. with the concert beginning at 7:30 p.m. The event will feature snacks and a cash bar, making it the perfect way to enjoy your weekend with a night of great music, funny stories, and good vibes.
