This former Butler Christmas Lights display from 2014 lit up Perham. This year’s display is in rural Otter Tail County between Butler township and the Hillview area.

After six weeks of set-up, the Butler Christmas Lights are back on this year with some brand new unseen items.

“We did a preliminary lighting last Sunday and as some have said, the Northeast corner of Otter Tail County was looking very festive,” said Mike Schmidt.

This year’s display features a 40-foot tall walk-through Christmas tree with illuminated walk-through tunnels that all family members will enjoy.

The lights will be available to visit from Dec. 1-29 from 5-9 p.m. weather permitting.

Visitors can pull up and tune into a displayed frequency to listen to the lights or choose the walk-through portion.

Park in the east parking area where signs will be posted.

A 10-foot tall sleigh with a 14-foot tall reindeer will be watching over this family-friendly event.

Please do not bring pets and enjoy the lights with your eyes, not your hands.

This display is for sale and volunteers are always welcome.

The location is 55533 County Highway 62, New York Mills, between the Butler and Hillview area. Those interested in volunteering can contact Mike Schmidt at lockkey@arvig.net
