The Frazee Ice Rink is open and ready for skating activity thanks to the efforts of the City of Frazee Public Works staff and thanks to some local kids the warming house now has a load of skates free to use by the public.
Over the past year Ryan, Brooks and Jack Daggett have been collecting hockey skates for their secret cause. The trio scoured secondhand stores and Facebook marketplace to find skates to donate to the warming house at the Frazee Ice Rink for anyone to use.
In total, they collected 18 sets of skates along with new laces to re-lace some of the existing skates.
The boys met up with Frazee Public Works Assistant Kevin Renollet to complete the donation and make a big increase to the warming house inventory on Thursday, Dec. 5.
Tanner Graham, cousin to the Daggett boys, provided the funds to purchase the skates and laces as part of Bell Bank’s Pay It Forward Initiative.
Since 2007, Pay It Forward has put dollars into the hands of Bell team members every year so they can give where they see the most need.
This tradition has empowered 30 millions of dollars in grassroots giving and impacted tens of thousands of lives.
