Frazee girls compete at Bemidji Blue Ox

Grace Hamm took second place at the Bemidji Blue Ox girls wrestling tournament on Saturday, Dec. 21. The 27-team tournament featured several hundred wrestlers from across the region.
Hamm, who is currently ranked 10th in the state at 130 lbs., opened her tournament with a pair of pins over Amber Kremper of Bemidji and Kaylee Endres of Wadena-Deer Creek. Both pins occurred in the second period.
In the championship match, Hamm squared off against sixth ranked at 124 lbs. Ariana Pickar of Brainerd. Unfortunately, Hamm fell for the first time this season as Pickar secured a pin in the championship match to secure first place. Hamm took second place in the 124 lbs. tournament and the eighth grader is currently 11-1 on the season.
Lola Hoehne and Sierra Aufdenkamp also competed for the Hornets in the tournament, but did not place in a pair of tough brackets.
