Frazee falls to Menahga in non-conference action

The Frazee Hornets split a pair of games to improve to 11-8 overall and 5-6 in the Heart O’ Lakes Conference last week.

After falling to undefeated Menahga 67-34 on the road in non-conference action on Tuesday night, the Hornets hit the road once again on Friday night when they traveled to Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton to take on the Rebels.

On Friday night the Hornets had a balanced scoring attack that led them to a big win over HOL Conference leading Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton. The Rebels, who are currently 13-4 on the season and 7-4 in the conference, defeated Frazee by a score of 60-54 back in December. 

This time around it was a balanced coring attack that lifted the Hornets past the Rebels by a score of 67-51 on the road.

Jayden Sonnenberg had a big game for the Hornets as she went a perfect 7-7 from the free throw line to finish with a team-high 23 points. She also had 11 rebounds and five steals to finish the night with a double-double.

Brynn Larson also reached double figures as she scored 15 points and pulled down seven rebounds. 

Hailee Olson chipped in with a pair of 3-pointers to finish with six points and a pair of assists, while Ruby Eckert scored six points, Katie Courneya scored two points, Analise Olson scored seven points, including a perfect 4-4 from the free throw line, Leslie Moore scored three points and Maggie Blaine scored five points in the win. 

The Hornets will get back into the HOL Conference action this week when they travel to Staples-Motley to take on the Cardinals who are 2-13 overall and 0-10 in the conference.

On Friday the Hornets will return home to take on the Breckenridge Cowgirls who are 12-5 overall and 6-4 in the conference. The Hornets defeated the Cardinals by a core of 72-48 earlier this season and fell to Breckenridge by a score of 69-54 in December. 

No individual stats or information from Tuesday’s game against Menahga was received at the time of press.
