Frazee fell to 8-12 on the season and 2-11 in the Heart O’ Lakes Conference as the Hornets lost their third straight game in the conference last week.

After falling to Breckenridge the week before, Frazee dropped a pair of games in the HOL to Staples-Motley and Perham last week.

This week the Hornets will travel to Lake Park-Audubon on Tuesday night, before hosting Pelican Rapids on Friday night in the regular season home finale. Frazee has just five games remaining in the regular season.

Tuesday

Staples-Motley took advantage of some friendly bounces and some home court advantage on Tuesday night as they shot over 53 percent from the floor and knocked down eight 3-pointers on their way to a 67-54 win over the Frazee Hornets last week.

Frazee trailed from the onset and was down 31-29 at halftime. Nonetheless, they were down just single digits midway through the second half thanks to 19 offensive rebounds and 34 points in the paint. The Hornets shot just 35 percent from the floor and made just 3-19 from behind the 3-point line. 

The Hornets were led offensively by Asher Blaine who scored 15 points, while Ayden Grossman scored 13 points on just 6-9 shooting from the floor. 

Carter Sonnenberg had a monster game on the boards as he finished with nine points and 14 rebounds, while Noah Mekalson scored seven points, Dawson Lyman scored five points, Adam Vigen scored four points and Benjamin Reierson rounded out the scoring with one point.

Friday

Despite falling behind early, head coach Ryan Vigen said he was pleased how the Hornets never gave up and played hard throughout their Heart O’ Lakes Conference game against the Perham Yellowjackets on Friday night. 

The Hornets trailed 38-23 at halftime, but outscored the Yellowjackets 41-33 in the final 18 minutes of action. 

Frazee once again held a big advantage in offensive rebounding with a 13-5 advantage, while also holding a 26-20 advantage in points in the paint. 

Adam Vigen came just one rebound shy of recording a double-double as he scored 19 points to go along with nine rebounds.
Carter Sonnenberg recorded a double-double with 13 points and pulling down 10 rebounds, while Asher Blaine scored 13 points to go along with five rebounds. 

Noah Mekalson scored eight points, Andrew Aho scored six points and finished with seven rebounds, Ayden Grossman scored three points and Benjamin Reierson rounded out the scoring with two points.
