Brynn Larson scored her 1,000th career point during last week’s game in Frazee.

Frazee junior Brynn Larson etched her name in the school record books on Friday night as she scored her 1,000th career point. Larson scored her 1,000th career point in Friday’s 60-56 overtime loss to Pelican Rapids, which was the fourth straight loss for the Hornets in the Heart O’ Lakes Conference.
Head coach Trey Heinsius said the Hornets played hard to keep Pelican Rapids on the ropes once again, but the Vikings were able to do just enough in overtime to come away with the win.
Frazee shot well against a tough Vikings defense as they hit 38.5 percent of their shots from the floor and knocked down eight 3-pointers in the loss. They also controlled the boards as the Hornets finished with 39 total rebounds, including nine on the offensive end of the court.
Jayden Sonnenberg led the way offensively as she recorded a double-double with 18 points to go along with 13 rebounds.
Larson etched her name in the record books as she scored 16 points in the loss, but scored her 1,000th career point.
Hailee Olson knocked down three 3-pointers to finish with nine points, while Katie Courneya scored five points, Aynslee Johannsen scored four points, Analise Olson scored two points and Ruby Eckert scored two points to go along with seven rebounds in the loss.
The Hornets also fell to Hawley by a score of 86-51 on Tuesday night as the team wrapped up their conference schedule with a record of 6-10 to finish in seventh place in the conference.
Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton, Pelican Rapids and Barnesville tied for the conference title with a record of 11-4 in the conference. Breckenridge could make it a four-way tie if they are able to defeat the Staples-Motley Cardinals this week. The Cowgirls are currently 10-4 in the conference.
The Hornets are 12-12 overall and will travel to Wadena-Deer Creek on Friday night in their regular season finale.
Frazee is currently in 10th place in the Section 8AA standings according to the QRF with WDC in ninth place. The Hornets will open the section tournament next week.
