A ribbon cutting was held Friday, Feb. 21, at Creating Community Junction in Frazee to celebrate the opening of Taylor Crabtree’s Frazee Floral and Stephanie King’s Evergreen Creations & Gifts, LLC.
Both businesses were welcomed by Frazee Mayor Mike Sharp and Frazee Community Club President Tom Watson thanking both Crabtree and King for being a part of the Frazee business community.
King stocks the gift shop in the Junction and does a lot of custom work that can be seen regularly at silent auctions and fundraisers in town.
“It is my passion,” she said.
King is a Frazee native and graduate, and also works in Human Resources in Detroit Lakes.
Crabtree is also a Frazee native and was featured in the Jan. 28 issue of the Forum.
“I’m really excited to be serving fresh flowers to the community and making everybody’s day,” she said.
Shelly Blauert was also introduced, she manages the retail space at the Junction. Blauert is also from Frazee. Blauert is working as a mentor to Crabtree and support for King.
“It’s exciting to be here and to see all this happening,” she said.
Creating Community Consulting co-owner and Frazee Economic Development Consultant Karen Pifher explained that the Junction is an incubator for new businesses.
“We created the Junction as a place to support our economic development in the city of Frazee,” she said. “We can be more of an incubator model to help some of these new businesses that are smaller get up and get started in the community.”
Detroit Lakes Chamber of Commerce President Jackie Buboltz was also on hand with the Chamber’s Ambassadors.
“We want to congratulate you all on opening this space; it’s fantastic and it’s great to see Frazee continue to grow and there must be something about Frazee because people want to come back and make it grow and be part of what is happening, which is really great to see,” said Buboltz.
Stories on both Blauert’s work at the Junction and King’s business will appear in upcoming issues of the Forum in March.
Creative Community Junction is located at 305 West Main Street.
