Carter Sonnenberg and Adam Vigen etched their names in Frazee history just minutes apart on Friday night. The duo joined teammate Asher Blaine in the 1,000 point scoring club after Blaine scored his 1,000th point just a few weeks ago. Both Sonnenberg and Vigen scored their 1,000th point in the first half of Friday’s game in Battle Lake.

The Hornets went on to defeat the Battlers by a score of 81-57 to improve to 11-13 overall, after falling to Hawley by a 56-54 margin on Tuesday night.

Frazee has just one game remaining on its schedule as it will travel to Park Rapids Area on Tuesday night in their regular season and conference finale.

The Hornets, who are in the running for a top five seed in the sub section, will open the sub section tournament next week.

Tuesday

In a battle that came down to the wire, the Frazee Hornets fell to the Hawley Nuggets on Tuesday night by a score of 56-54. The Hornets trailed 20-18 at halftime, and led briefly in the second half, before the Nuggets were able to push the pace a bit midway through the final 18 minutes of action.

Frazee was able to keep the game within a possession down the stretch, but the Nuggets were able to do just enough to keep the visiting Hornets at bay to drop Frazee to 10-12 on the season and 3-12 in the Heart O’ Lakes Conference.

Adam Vigen led the way offensively with 17 points, while Carter Sonnenberg finished with 16 points and six rebounds.

Asher Blaine scored six points, Dawson Lyman scored five points, while Ayden Grossman and Noah Mekalson rounded out the scoring with four points apiece.
