Hornets open golf season at Vintage Golf Course

On Monday April 21, the Frazee Hornets had their first golf meet of the season and it was an HOL conference meet at the Vintage Golf Course near Staples. The weather was perfect.
The girls had a nice showing for the first meet of the year. Rylee Stock led the way with a score of 99. Emma Wiseman had a 109, Lilly Adams had a 113, and Onalea Maijala and Ella Perala each had a 123. Sophie Cook from Hawley was the medalist with a score of 83 and Barnesville won the team title with a score of 374. The Lady Hornets finished in eighth place in the 10 team field.
On Tuesday, April 22 the Lady Hornets hosted a non-conference meet at the Frazee golf course. The 9-hole meet featured seven teams and Hawley won the team title with a score of 191. The Lady Hornets finished in a tie for fifth. Emma Wiseman led the way with a 49 for Frazee. Adams followed with a 50, Stock had a 55, Maijala had 57 and Perala had a 64. Cook from Hawley was again the medalist with a score of 38.

On Thursday the Lady Hornet golfers traveled to Hawley golf club for another HOL conference 18 hole meet. Stock again led the way with a 98. Wiseman had a 105, Adams a 111, and Perala a 115. 7th grader Natalie Martin from Park Rapids was the medalist with an impressive score of 74. Barnesville won the team title with a score of 361 while the Lady Hornet golfers finished in 8th place in the 10-team field.
Monday’s meet at Wildflower was canceled because of the weather. Frazee has one other meet this week and that is an 18-hole meet at Birchwood golf course in Pelican Rapids.
