Otter Tail County has announced the first round of grant recipients for the Opioid Settlement Fund, marking a significant step in addressing the opioid crisis in local communities. Through the dedication of the Otter Tail County Opioid Settlement Funds Advisory Council and the County Board of Commissioners, $400,000 in funding has been awarded to support treatment, recovery, and prevention efforts.

Launched in July 2024, the first round of the Request for Applications (RFA) enabled eligible organizations to apply for up to $50,000 per year over a two-year period. After a rigorous review process, five organizations have been selected to receive funding, with projects kicking off on January 1, 2025, and continuing through December 31, 2026.

Round One Grant Recipients:

• The Bridge Center – Providing a safe space for young people to engage and grow in Pelican Rapids.

• Perham 180 – Supporting individuals on their journey to recovery through structured programming and services.

• Lake Region Halfway Home – Offering transitional housing and resources for individuals in recovery.

• Otter Tail County Probation – Implementing intervention programs that reduce recidivism and promote rehabilitation.

• Community & Life Services – Providing essential support services for individuals and families affected by opioid addiction.

“This funding is a critical step in supporting local organizations that are on the front lines of addiction recovery and prevention. On behalf of the Board of Commissioners, we are committed to investing in programs that will create lasting positive change in Otter Tail County,” said Nicole Hansen, Otter Tail County Administrator.

The county remains dedicated to transparency and community collaboration in distributing these funds. Residents and organizations are encouraged to stay informed about future funding opportunities and Advisory Council meetings by visiting www.ottertailcounty.gov/opioid-settlement-funds.
