The end result was a pair of wins over the Vikings by scores of 3-1 and 10-5, while falling to NCE/UH in the nightcap by a score of 7-3.

In the opening game of the afternoon, Frazee broke a scoreless tie in the bottom of the second inning when Ellie Trieglaff led things off with a single. She scored on a one out Alydia Mitchell triple to make the score 1-0 in favor of the Hornets.

After Pelican Rapids tied things up 1-1 in the top of the third inning, Katie Courneya put the Hornets in front for good when she connected for a solo home run, before Calleigh Pausch gave Frazee a bit of breathing room when she hit an RBI single one inning later to put the Hornets up 3-1.

Frazee hosted Pelican Rapids and Norman County East:Ulen-Hitterdal last week.

It was all the run support Trieglaff would need as she went seven innings and gave up just five hits, one earned run and struck out three hitters to collect the win. Frazee had six hits in the win and was led by Mitchell who went 2-3 with a triple and RBI.

In the second game of the night, Frazee found itself trailing 5-3 after the Vikings struck for four runs in the third inning and another run in the fourth inning to put the Hornets back against the walls.

Fortunately for Frazee, the Hornets tied the game in the top of the fifth inning when Katie Courneya hit a one out RBI single and would later score on a passed ball to make the score 5-5 heading into the bottom of the fifth inning.

The Hornets took the lead for good with a dominant top of the seventh inning where they plated five runs to come away with a 10-5 win. The inning was highlighted by a pair of RBI singles by Courneya and Calleigh Pausch.

Ellie Trieglaff and Courneya led the way offensively for Frazee as they both finished with three hits.
Courneya picked up three RBIs and scored two runs, while Trieglaff was just a home run away from hitting for the cycle as she had a single, double and triple in the win. She also scored three runs and picked up her second win of the day in the circle as she pitched four innings of relief and gave up just four hits and one unearned run.

The final game of the day the Hornets were just unable to string together enough hits and fell victim to a six run top of the fourth inning by the Titans which proved to be too much to overcome as they fell by a score of 7-3.

After the Titans struck for six runs in the fourth inning, the Hornets chipped away at the lead with a two-run double by Ella Ullrich, before Katie Courneya scored on a passed ball in the sixth inning to make the score 7-3 in favor of the Titans. Unfortunately, the Hornets were unable to get another run across the plate in the seventh inning and fell by a score of 7-3 in a busy Friday of softball.

Ruby Eckert led the way offensively for the Hornets with a pair of hits, while Ullrich picked up a pair of RBIs in the loss.

Ellie Trieglaff took the loss in the circle as she went all seven inning and gave up seven earned runs and 10 hits, while striking out three hitters.

On Monday the Hornets traveled to New York Mills in a non-conference game, before traveling to Hawley for a Heart O’ Lakes Conference matchup against the Nuggets, before hosting Perham in a conference doubleheader on Thursday.
