Recognized for providing exceptional, high-quality care, Essentia Health-Oak Crossing in Detroit Lakes has received an overall rating of 5/5 from U.S. News and World Report for the 2025 Best Nursing Homes ratings.

Oak Crossing has been recognized as a top nursing home by U.S. News and World Report since 2016.

The 2025 evaluation features ratings of nearly 15,000 U.S. nursing homes. Since 2009, U.S. News and World Report has scoured the nation seeking the best facilities using health inspections, training for staff and overall quality measures such as illnesses from preventable diseases or injuries. The top honor is awarded to only 20% of nursing homes.

“Caregiving is a great privilege for our team,” said Christy Brinkman, Oak Crossing administrator. “It is an honor to receive this designation again. It really is a testament to the consistently high-quality care and service our team provides to our residents, day in and day out.”

In addition to the overall top rating, Oak Crossing received a high-performing rating of 3/3 in both long-term care and short-term rehabilitation.
