The Frazee girls golf team had two Heart O’ Lakes Conference meets on May 13 with DGF hosting at Village Green golf course in Moorhead. It was a brutally tough day to golf with the temperature in the low 90’s and winds gusting over 40 mph.

Barnesville won the 18-hole meet with a team score of 385. Only three girls managed to shoot under 90 in the difficult conditions as Sophie Cook of Hawley was the medalist with an impressive score of 82.

For Frazee, Emma Wiseman led the way with a 99. Rylee Stock had a 111, Lilly Adams had a 119, and Ella Perala a 138. The Lady Hornets finished in 8th place in the 10 team field.

On Thursday the Lady Hornets once again had to deal with windy conditions in another HOL conference meet at Whitetail Run golf course near Wadena. In addition to wind, rain was also a factor as it rained hard on two different occasions during the tournament.

Despite the less than ideal weather conditions, Frazee was able to produce their best team score of the season which allowed them a seventh place finish in the 10-team tournament. Barnesville had a score of 357 to edge Hawley by just one shot. Cook of Hawley shared medalist honors with Natalie Martin of Park Rapids with a 75. Wiseman paced the Lady Hornets with a season best score of 90. Stock had a 98, Adams shot a career best 104, Perala had a 112 and Onalea Maijala had a 115.

Frazee has their final HOL conference meet of the season on Monday at Wildflower golf course. Section 8AA play is on June 2-3 at Bemidji Town & Country Club.
