Members of the Frazee golf team wrapped up their regular season at Balmoral Golf Course in Battle Lake. Ben Reierson (below) and Adam Vigen finished with all-conference honors for the season. Team members competing at Balmoral included: Ben Reierson, Adam Vigen, Cayden Wallin, Brodie Mausbach, Tyler Lindell and Matthew Lindell.

The Hornets came into the last stretch of the season with high hopes going into the HOL final at Balmoral. A couple of meets before proved difficult conditions. The team traveled to Thumper Pond in Ottertail for an invite that saw crazy high winds. The team fared well placing second although their rounds were a bit higher than they would have liked.
Ben Reierson shot 82, which was good enough for second on the day. On a side note Reierson was recognized in the second round of voting on the All-State list. Cayden Wallin shot an 88. Adam Vigen wasn’t his consistent self but managed a 91. Tyler Lindell perked up a bit and shot 105. The wind played havoc with Brodie Mausbach and he ended with a 107. To round out the crew the Hornets took Matthew Lindell and he shot 127.
The second meet of the week was a JV/JH meet that saw the young fellas go to Perham. Matthew Lindell shot 53. Tristan Maijala shot 53. Grayson Wirth had a good day and shot 50 and Ashton Bristlin ended with a 55. It was good for these guys to go out and get some experience.
The following day the varsity headed to Perham for a HOL conference meet. Cayden Wallin led the team that day with an 81 which was good enough for 10th. Ben Reierson shot 82, Adam Vogen shot 84, Tyler Lindell shot 88, Brodie Mausbach shot 96, and Shane Erickson rounded out the Hornets with a 119. The team ended up in fourth place one spot lower than we have been placing lately.
The last meet for the regular season was at Balmoral in Battle Lake. The weather did not cooperate at all. Stocking caps and mittens were the proper dress to try to stay somewhat warm. The guys played well in the conditions. At one point late in the day the Hornets were four strokes from taking second place. Ben Reierson and Adam Vigen ended the day tied for seventh shooting 82. Both guys said that it wasn’t there best day, but was pretty good for what they played in.
Cayden Wallin was leading the Hornets for most of the day but his last hole jumped up and bit him. He ended with an 84.
Brodie Mausbach had it going most of the day, but his 3 wood broke and that wasn’t a great thing for his score. He ended in the 80’s though with a 89.
The Lindell brothers rounded out the scoring shooting 108 and 113 respectively. The team was able to secure third place, which has been a goal all season.
For the year, with all the averages of the rounds put together Frazee had a nice showing. The Hornets ended with two all-conference guys and one honorable mention. Benjamin Reierson ended the season with a 76 round average. Cayden Wallin ended with a 80 average. Adam Vigen with an 84, Brodie Mausbach with an 87 and Tyler Lindell ended with a 96.
The team narrowly ended up in fourth place in the conference which was still a nice showing with all the new teams coming in. The Hornets will now move on to section 6A play at Perham.
