The Frazee Hornets have improved to 2-0 for the first time since 2014 after picking up a 44-6 win over Menahga on Friday night. That came on the heels of a 22-0 win over Browerville in the regular season opener.
Frazee will take its 2-0 record on the road on Friday night as they travel to Breckenridge to take on a 2-0 Cowboys team.

Frazee sophomore Ben Reierson took Friday night’s opening kick off through the specially created Hornets hole on the return, then hit the afterburners to take it all the way to the end zone for a quick 6-0 Frazee lead. Reierson nor the Hornets looked back, running away with the 44-6 victory.
The Cowboys come into the game averaging 38 points per game on offense, while surrendering 23 points per game on defense. Breckenridge defeated Benson 55-34 in their regular season opener, before defeating Parkers Prairie 21-12 last week.
Meanwhile, the Hornets are averaging 33 points per game on offense, while giving up just three points per game on defense.
Head coach Russ Hackel said Friday’s matchup will be a tough one for the Hornets as Breckenridge just knocked off last year’s state entrant Parkers Prairie. He said the game will be a physical one, but Frazee will do what it can to be ready for the Breckenridge rushing attack.

Dawson Lyman rushed nine times for 73 yards and a pair of scores, while Benjamin Reierson rushed six times for 68 yards as the Frazee Hornets were able to get by a tough Browerville Tigers team on Aug. 29.

Adam Vigen added another score through the air as he went 5-10 for 26 yards passing with his touchdown pass going to Noah Mekalson who caught three passes for 23 yards and a score. Ayden Grossman caught a pass for three yards and Mason Mickelson caught another pass for no yards in the win.
In addition to Lyman and Reierson, Mickelson rushed six times for 20 yards, Hunter Malone rushed four times for 10 yards, Vigen rushed three times for three yards and Christian Peichel rushed one time for three yards.
As a team the Hornets gained 203 yards of total offense, including 177 yards on the ground,
while surrendering just 42 yards to the Tigers in total offense.
Jack Graham led the way defensively with eight tackles, while Mekalson and Malone finished with seven, Conner Erickson and Blake Sonnenberg each finished with six and Grossman finished with five tackles.
Friday
Frazee improved to 2-0 for the first time in over a decade on Friday night with a dominant 44-6 win over Menahga on the road.
Adam Vigen had a big night on the field as the quarterback rushed six times for 125 yards and a pair of scores, while going 5-9 for 52 yards and a touchdown through the air to lead the charge.
The Hornets wasted little time getting on the scoreboard as they took the opening kick back for a touchdown. The team would go on to score 20 points in the first quarter alone and would go on to give up just one touchdown all night long.
“It was a great night of football for Frazee,” said Hackel, who went on to say the JV did a good job late in the game as well.
Ben Reierson rushed eight times for 92 yards, while Mason Mickelson rushed 10 times for 70 yards and a touchdown.
Hunter Malone broke loose for 47 yards on one carry, while Dawson Lyman rushed four times for 15 yards and was 2-2 for 15 yards passing. Christian Peichel rushed two times for five yards and a score, while Reed Simon rushed one time for two yards.
